Guide

How to use the product photography generator

  1. 01

    Describe the product

Start with the object, its shape, color and distinctive details. Choose a category, then describe visible features rather than relying on a brand name.

  2. 02

    Choose the commercial direction

Select a catalog, luxury, lifestyle or creative presentation. Add materials and a finish that suit the actual object.

  3. 03

    Arrange the photograph

Choose the setting, supporting surface, props, light and viewpoint. For flat lays, the camera looks straight down; floating shots omit a supporting surface.

  4. 04

    Choose your platform and copy

Copy the finished prompt into your image generator. Midjourney includes --ar; on other platforms, choose the closest available image dimensions separately.

Tips

Write more effective commercial product prompts

Name the visible materials

Describe a glass body and brushed metal cap separately. Mixed materials can be useful; opposing finishes across the whole product are less clear. Use custom details to assign different finishes to specific parts.

Give reflections a light source

A large softbox suggests broad, controlled highlights on glass or metal. Rim lighting can separate a dark object from its background; too many unrelated light sources can make reflections confusing.

Match the setting to the use

Catalog images usually benefit from uncluttered studio settings. Lifestyle photographs can show context, while campaign images may use bolder color, props and unusual arrangements.

Leave space for campaign copy

Negative space means an uncluttered area of the image, not a negative prompt. Add actual headlines and sales copy afterward in your design software instead of relying on generated lettering.

Make food and skincare specific

For food, describe texture, plating and freshness. For skincare, specify container shape and material. Keep props relevant and visually secondary to the product.

Review before commercial use

Prompts cannot guarantee accurate labels, brand logos or exact product dimensions. Compare the result with the real item and review usage rights; use real product photography when precise representation is essential.

Examples

Example product photography prompts

Luxury Perfume Photography

Luxury commercial product photograph of an amber glass perfume bottle with a brushed gold cap and beveled edges, standing on a marble pedestal against a dark studio background, softbox highlights and subtle rim lighting, three-quarter view, 100mm macro lens, sharp product focus, restrained warm tones, realistic glass reflections and natural shadows, uncluttered space beside the bottle.

Minimalist Watch Photography

Minimalist product photograph of a silver wristwatch with a navy dial and fine leather strap, centered on a pure white background with no props, diffused softbox lighting, front view, 105mm macro lens, deep focus on the dial and strap, clean commercial look, realistic metal highlights and subtle contact shadows.

Premium Skincare Product Photography

Editorial product photograph of a frosted glass skincare jar with a matte ceramic lid, arranged on an acrylic platform against a pastel green studio background, a folded linen cloth and a single botanical sprig, soft natural lighting, three-quarter view, 85mm lens, shallow depth of field with sharp focus on the jar, delicate surface texture, restrained professional retouching.

Commercial Sneaker Photography

Commercial advertising photograph of a red running sneaker with a textured knit upper and sculpted rubber sole, floating against a bold colored studio background, no supporting platform or props, controlled dramatic studio lighting and rim light, low-angle view, 50mm lens, centered floating composition, sharp product focus, vibrant colors and realistic fabric detail.

Gourmet Food Photography

Lifestyle food photograph of a rustic pear tart with golden pastry and visible sliced fruit, resting on a ceramic plate on a wooden table, linen napkin and fresh pears as natural props, soft window light, top-down flat lay composition, 50mm lens, deep focus, warm natural tones, realistic pastry texture and gentle shadows.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the product photography generator free? +

Yes. It is free and does not require an account.

Does this tool generate product photos? +

No. It assembles a text prompt in your browser. Paste the result into your preferred image generator.

Can it reproduce my product exactly? +

No. Text prompts cannot guarantee exact physical product replication, accurate packaging lettering or correct brand logos. Describe visible details and review every result. Real photographs are preferable for listings that require exact representation.

Can I combine different materials? +

Yes. Glass, metal, leather and other materials can coexist. Opposing overall finishes replace each other; use the custom material description to specify, for example, a matte body with a glossy cap.

Why do some choices replace other choices? +

The tool removes conflicting structured selections, such as matte and glossy finishes, no props and decorative props, or floating and flat lay framing. Flat lays use a top-down view; floating shots omit a supporting surface. Keep your own descriptions consistent too.

How should I use a negative prompt? +

Copy it separately into a negative field only when your model and interface support one. Support varies, including across Stable Diffusion workflows and Leonardo models. Negative instructions are preferences, not guarantees.

How does the aspect ratio work? +

Midjourney copies --ar with your ratio. Universal Prompt, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E and Leonardo AI copy natural-language text without inline settings. Choose the closest supported dimensions in your generator.

Is my product description stored? +

No. Generation runs entirely in your browser, with no server or external AI API receiving your input.
